Day 5 - That John Denver's full of sh*t man

We made our way to Denver from Lake Lotawana, traveling through the expanse of nothingness that is Kansas.  

They did boast, however to have the largest prairie dog in the world....

We thought the rocky mountains were rockier than this

Unfortunately we were unable to check it out for ourselves so we cannot vouch that this is true.  But we can say that although John Denver has expressed his love for Colorado through songs about the rocky mountains (he also changed his last name from Deutschendorf to Denver - now that's dedication), unless it's a clear day and you're within a 10 mile proximity of Denver, you just might think he's full of sh*t...man.

Nonetheless, once you reach the Rocky Mountains, you will see that they are in fact rocky and glorious. 

They are much more glorious than this photo portrays....

Well, after another 10 hours of driving we finally made our way into Denver and can only offer the following sorry excuse for a photo of the skyline with the silhouetted rockies in the background.
