After a relaxing day and night spent in Chicago, we made our way to a city well known for its barbecue and jazz - Kansas City, Missouri (not to be confused with the less equivalent counterpart Kansas City, Kansas).
The first 6 hours of the drive were smooth and the space dragon was purring like a kitten. The last 3 hours were not ideal driving conditions. So the space dragon was put to the test of Gary, IN - now it was time to test its agility and brute strength of a Missouri summer storm.

Approaching the storm |
Fortunately we were driving on the cusp of the storm. Once we broke on through to the other side, we approached majestic clouds with the sun shining through implying that the storm has passed.

Glorious clouds |
This was not the case. The storm was moving faster than the space dragon, unfortunately and it finally caught up with us. The space dragon was put to the test. Let it pour.

The early stages of the storm |
The storm continued on and off. The rain poured down as we have never seen it and the wind man handled the space dragon. Even after the sun set, the storm had no mercy and did not let up. If anything, the conditions only worsened.

Not surprising, the space dragon passed the test and we inched our way to Lake Lotawana. The storm continued to rein throughout the night. We were finally able to watch the storm free from anxiety, and from the comfort and shelter of a cozy lake house.
